FACT
- What are Indian reservations and the restrictions that white people have to go on them and fish or hunt or camp?
- What are the injustices that both parties have?
- How did the reservations begin?
- What was the cause of reservations?
- Can these restrictions and injustices be changed?
DEFINITION
- What is an Indian reservation?
- What are the restrictions on fishing and camping on these reservations?
- What kind of injustices exist?
QUALITY
- How serious are the restrictions?
- How important are the restrictions?
- Are the restrictions just?
- Are the restrictions bad, right, wrong, and have they changed over time?
PROCEDURE
- Should restrictions be more severe or more lenient?
- How should they be carried out and enforced?
- Should the National or State governments be involved?
- What are some possible solutions that would benefit both parties, Indians and whites?
Right now I will be writing about a place where my friend and I go every year to fish. It is called Black River. It is located on an Indian reservation. Every year we have to get special camping and fishing permits that are expensive, more expensive than normal permits because they are within the Apache Indian Reservation. I want to see the cause and the effect of these reservations and how we can improve the Indian reservations. How did they turn out the way they are and why. Why can’t the non-Indians use the land also for our benefit? I will look into these questions and see if there is a solution that would improve things for both sides. Mainly I will be looking at the fishing and camping aspect of the reservations and a bit of hunting also. All should be able to use the resources and beauty of the land. I will research and see how it came to be that way and how we can use the land and share it so everyone can see the beauty that exists there.
